RIDE AN EPIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE HEART OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS

RIDE INFO / OVERVIEW

WELCOME TO CANCERVIVE 2025

Cancervive is an annual one-day bike ride through Banff National Park on the Bow Valley Parkway to raise money for Wellspring Alberta, a charity offering free programs and services to people living with cancer – including those diagnosed, caregivers, and kids.

Held on September 13th choose from 25km, 50km, 75 km or 110km distances and ride together in the Banff National Park as we support those with cancer. The route starts and ends on the paved bike trails in the town of Banff and wind out and back on the 1A which is only open to cyclists in September.  Whether you are on an eBike, road bike or a cruiser bike, pick your distance and come and ride this iconic route with us.

Cancervive is accessible to all rider levels and abilities. We are committed to an inclusive experience and ride in smaller groups, so no one is left behind. This directly aligns with our support for Wellspring and their mission to ensure no one faces cancer alone. From its humble beginnings back in 2005 until today, Cancervive has raised over $3 million for Wellspring Alberta to support families living with cancer.

Each participant in Cancervive is asked to raise a minimum of $600. This fundraising effort is vital for supporting Wellspring Alberta’s mission to provide free services and programs to those affected by cancer. By joining us on this scenic ride, you help ensure that no one faces cancer alone, supporting our community in profound and meaningful ways.

Corrie D. Mayor of Banff

Corrie D. is riding with CANCERVIVE!

Corrie has been in and around Banff since she was born. With a journalism degree, she found a new love for this special place through her roles as a newspaper reporter and magazine editor in the community. This time spent learning from and listening to the community led her to run for office and become a town Councillor in 2013.

When she’s not at town hall, she has helped organizations like the Banff Canmore Community Foundation, Roam Public Transit, and Banff Pride with communications. In
2021, she was elected Mayor and has been enjoying the challenge and rewards of the position ever since. Her roots in Banff run deep, with her grandparents immigrating to the mountain town from Italy in the late 1950s. With gratitude for their decision, Corrie enjoys backcountry hut trips with friends as well as running, biking, and hiking in the mountains.
